Does Fucoxanthin work?
Fucoxanthin is an interesting compound in marine plants, and is found in the pigment of different seaweeds including Brown seaweed. This ingredient claims to take away stubborn abdominal fat. Studies have been performed on animals, and it leaves the effects on humans to be inconclusive. The amount of herbs given to animals is much higher per body weight than what is ingested by humans.
Fucoxanthin Customer Review
1. “I am exhausted from trying various diet pills. I of course bought Fucoxanthin, and after taking for a couple of weeks (with next to no change), came across some startling information. High amounts of iodine, iodine is extracted from seaweed, can cause goiters. This stuff is unregulated and does not disclose how much iodine is in each capsule. I don’t want to end up unhealthy, and with goiters, so I stopped taking it immediately.” – Brent
2. “This product was a joke” – Alison
Fucoxanthin Side Effects
Potentially could experience changes in thyroid function, from an excess in iodine.
Fucoxanthin Highlighted Ingredients
This all natural ingredient found in seaweed possesses thermogenic effects (body’s ability to burn fat).
Is Fucoxanthin Worth Trying?
Our biggest concerns are these studies have only been conducted on animals. Obviously there is a big difference in the body weight of a rat and a human. The amount of Fucoxanthin injected is much higher than what a human would normally ingest. Be cautious when interpreting animal studies. There are much more proven, safe, and effective products on the market.

I tried Fucoxathin a couple of different times with little to no success. I understand that everyone is different and responds differently to different supplements. I felt it to be a waste of money and discourage anyone considering it, not to bother.

I’ve been using it for a little over a month now and I only take 1 tablet a day because I was unsure how I would react. I have had NO negative side effects. I have noticed a dramatic decrease in cravings and have lost about 8 pounds. It amounts to about a pound per week. I don’t know if it’s the pills or the fact that I removed carbs from dinner or both. I’m going to finish the bottle because it seems to be working. If I keep losing then I will buy the next bottle. The claim that iodine causes goitre is untrue… it’s the opposite. Iodine deficiency causes goitre.
